When One Is Worth More Than 100

A common mistake marketers make when they invite prospects to their meetings is that they believe everyone is a prospect. When we invite people to our local opportunity meetings, telephone conference calls or one-on-one presentations, we will end up with ‘no-shows.’ The key element is to get qualified prospects to your meetings. To reduce “no-show rate”, we want to make sure that we talk to prospects and have our plan in front of them. If our prospects don’t show up, we miss the opportunity to show our business and consequently our business will not grow.

You need to know that people will not magically join your business because you invite them to an opportunity meeting, because they call a sizzle line or call a teleconference line. We need to have proper expectations about the business, and the fact that people are not gong to join just because you show them your opportunity.

In order to get more qualified prospects to your meetings, this is where your knowledge, skills, experience and actions all come into play. With proper training, you can be helped to determine what is missing for you to build a successful business. You have to develop you skills and master the basics in network marketing. The key is for you to gain the fundamental training to understand the basics.

If you don’t know the basics, if you don’t know how to connect with people, if you are afraid to telephone people, if you are not sure what to say to people when you invite them to a meeting, you are in the water and you need to plug into the right training. Until you are equipped with the foundational training and you first lay the proper foundation, you can’t start building the business.

We need to build the foundation based on consistent action, to learn step by step, and to grow incrementally. Taking consistent action is the secret to finding more quality prospects for your local opportunity meetings, conference calls, and one-on-one meetings, and getting more qualified business partners to join your business.

Many uplines tell new people to show 10 people the opportunity every week and they will sponsor 2, but this strategy does not work. By learning the basics, you will understand what it will actually take, and the level of action you will need to take to build the business. The right effective training will help you build a solid part-time business. It will help you to get more qualified people to your opportunity meetings, and to sponsor more qualified business partners into your business.

You will need to have a certain number of properly qualified people at these events, and you will have to track the outcome. By consistently tracking your activities, it will help you to know what it will take to sponsor one person into your business. You have to properly track your daily activities to get a good understanding why you are sponsoring the number of people through your local opportunity meetings. Your tracking will, also, help you to understand why you are not getting enough qualified people to your opportunity meetings, conference calls, or one-on-one meetings.

Most marketers believe that anyone is a prospect. Not everyone is a prospect, because not everyone cares about your business. You don’t have credibility in everybody’s eyes, and credibility is a primary factor in marketing. You will learn that most of the people you know from school, work, church and through acquaintances are not prospects for your business.

Many people fail in the business because they aggressively tried to use the old “3-foot rule” by approaching people in grocery check out lines, airports, etc to tell them about their business opportunities. It is an unnatural way to do business because most people are uncomfortable with this kind of marketing approach. Some people may choose to attend your opportunity meetings, but they will not join the business just because you show them your business and compensation plan.

What you want is to get qualified people to your meetings. You need to target your market. Target marketing is important even in your local market. One targeted qualified prospect who is interested in building a business is worth 100 of your neighbors, friends and family with no interest.

How do you get prospects interested and excited about your business? You have to figure out why you are in a business. This is something a lot of people have not thought about in depth.
You have to find out why people want to build a business. That is what marketers do all the time when they target a market. They target by age, group, income, socioeconomic, and geographic regions. The more you know about your prospects the better you can target and fine tune your offer. Before approaching people about your business, ask yourself, is this someone I would even want to make this offer to?

In the local warm market, people are told to approach friends and family. But we approach them in the wrong way. We approach them in a way that is unnatural. We approach them in a way like somebody who is trying to scam them. As a result, we loose our credibility with our family and friends, and credibility is something hard to get back. It is at this point where a lot of people get blown out of the water and quit the business. But if you quit before you get started, you don’t have an opportunity to build your business and achieve success.

You have to learn and master the skills. You have to realize that not every person is your prospect. With target marketing, you go through your regular course of business talking only to those people who fit your target market. By using target marketing you get some upfront information about your prospects which helps you to build rapport easier with them. When you target your market it allows you to be open with your prospects.

One of the main reasons new marketers do “3-way calls”, the sizzle lines or conference calls to pitch the opportunity to prospects is because they are not trained to qualify their prospects. Many uplines feel that it is better for you to bring as many people to these events and to let a qualified person tell the story, talk about the product and get the prospect excited and then they will join. As a result, new marketers do not pre-qualify prospects before inviting them to meetings. They become dependent on their upline, and they in turn build a dependent downline which is tragic. You will save a lot of time and build your credibility by properly qualifying your prospects. We feel that everyone is our prospect, but not everyone is a prospect for our products or business opportunities.

Network Marketing is a relationship business. You as the marketer has the first contact in building rapport with your prospects. You have to make sure you are properly qualifying and properly interviewing your prospects before inviting them to your opportunity meetings or introduce them to your upline. This approach gives you leverage and competitive advantage with your prospects . You will build loyalty in your downline. You have to always promote yourself first instead of your company, business opportunity or upline. When you promote yourself first, you are building credibility and trust which is essential, and it begins with you in the initial steps while qualifying your prospects.

How do you qualify the prospects for your local opportunity meeting or conference calls? You have to qualify to find out if your prospects have interest in your business. You have to find out if your prospects have the time to build the business. You have to qualify to determine if your prospects have the money to build the business. These are the three things you must ask each prospect upfront. When you are inviting someone on a ‘3-way call’ with your upline, inviting them to a local opportunity meeting, or a teleconference call about your business opportunity, you have to qualify your prospects on interest, time, and money.

When you invite someone to take a look at your opportunity and you don’t qualify them on the money to get started, are you really being honest and ethical with your prospects? If you properly qualify your prospects, you will be able to find out if they have the interest, time and money to get started in building a business. Only then are they ready to go to your opportunity meetings, attend your conference calls, or one-on-one meetings to take a closer look at your business. By properly qualifying them it help you to leverage your time, and you are showing that you respect their time.

In the qualifying process, you are building on your trust and credibility. If they qualify and want to hear more, then you can invite them to your business opportunity meeting to reinforce their knowledge and understanding of what your business is about. You should not use your business opportunity meeting as the first presentation. It should be used to reinforce and supplement the other things you have done. You need to always remember that one targeted qualified prospect who is interest in your business is worth more than a list of 100 family and friends who have no interest becoming your business partners.

Make no mistake about this, your upline wants the same thing you want. He or she wants to see your business grow. Your upline wants you to bring more new people each meeting. But it is your job and responsibility to find more qualified prospects to attend your meetings to see your business opportunity. How you accomplish that task is up to you. You will need to plug into the right training to gain the knowledge, skills, tools and expertise to connect with qualified prospects to sponsor quality business builders into your organization.

Success Is A Commitment Not An Accident: A Specific Plan -- Part V

You need a plan that works and you need to work the plan. Most people don’t have a plan to achieve their goals. They have unrealistic goals. They want to make $10,000 plus a month in 12 months in network marketing without the tools and skills to build the business.

How would they do that? It is just a dream because they have no written goals or plan. A plan is very specific. It requires specific actions to achieve a desired outcome. Studies show that only 3% of Americans have goals or written goals and plans to turn their dreams into realities. You need to know what works and what does not work, because it is critical to have a workable to achieve success in your business.

Successful Network Marketing will plug you into proven market tested strategies and techniques. You will have access to training that will teach you what works in the field. You can be confident because these strategies and techniques are fully tested and proven based on market trends. The training you will plug into has an outstanding track record of teaching the top network marketers globally how to sponsor 10 plus quality business partners every month.

Network marketing is a relationship and duplicating business. As the market changes, what you learn from the training will also change. To succeed in the business, you will need to build and constantly upgrade your skills. You will need to work hard and be willing to get the job done.

Your organization and the people you sponsor will observe and do the same thing you are doing. You will have to build your skills and expertise. You can be successfully trained if you are committed to building your business. You will have access to everything, the knowledge, resources, tools and support system you need to beat the odds and succeed in your business.

I will be there for you every step of the way, but I will not promise you to build your business for you. I will point you in the right direction for you to navigate market tested and proven strategies to short-cut your learning curve and to become a truly independent marketer and expert in the industry. You will learn the pros and cons about the most successful marketing methods, strategies and techniques.

Most marketers give recruits wrong advice that cause them to waste time, money and effort that make them doom to fail from the start. They sow hype and rumors that make new recruits believe they can earn a huge income in few months with no skills. When that unrealistic income is not achieved, people quit or jump to other companies, chasing after the “elusive secret magic wealth formula.”

Some Network Marketers are misleading recruits into believing they can build a list of 100 to 200 people from their warm markets, prospect using the "3-foot rule", 3-way calls, sizzle lines, teleconfrence meetings, and dragging people to local business opportunities meetings will help to sponsor new business partners and quickly build successful businesses. This approach will limit the speed with which you can build your business. It is a recipe for failure right out the starting gate, because your friends and family have little interest in the business you are promoting.

The "heavy hitters" in newowrk marketing don't build their businesses that way. They build using target marketing strategy. They are constantly prospecting long distance. They are consistently calling prospects in their targeted markets every day in other states or countries to find and sponsor business partners into their organizations. Their objective is to sponsor 1o plus quality people every month. You will face an uphill battle or fail if you are building your network marking business locally. You have to make your business a truly home-based business and become a truly independent marketer.

There is no easy way or “magic pill” to build any business. What people need to know is the truth with concrete proof about what works or does not work in network marketing. “The Secret is Hard Work.”

You will be told straight up what works and what doesn’t work. Once you know the truth, you will find solutions so you can become successful and reach the next level. We believe every marketer is responsible for his or her own success. No matter what business you choose, hard work, confidence, consistency, discipline and sacrifice always win out in the long-term.

You will have a lot of people in your organization. You will have people with big dreams. You will find fewer people with the commitment, and from these few, you will find potential leaders and business builders. These are people who made a personal commitment and have written goals and plans.

You will need to give those few people every chance for them to succeed. You can’t do the tasks for them, but you can make yourself available. You can direct them to the resources and tools for them to develop their knowledge and skills to build the business. You can encourage them to stick with the business for the long-term.

You will need to give your perspective recruits the realistic data that 3 new recruits every month in any legitimate network marketing company could earn you an extra $70,000 a year in 4 years. The business may or may not be exciting during the first 12 months. You need to know that just 3 recruits every month after the first 12 months is not terribly exciting. It is just average by the industry standards. But that average performance equals an extra $70,000 a year after 4 years, if you work 1 to 2 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week.

The “heavy hitters” in this industry work 60 to 80 hours per week, and they still find time to learn something new and upgrade their skills. In the first 12 month, you will question your sanity about why you are working so hard to build the business. If you knew the numbers ahead of time, if you knew the realistic expectation of this business, would you focus on your goals and become energized?

The network marketing business is not all about talent. It is about consistently doing what you need to do and making things happen. Success is taking one consistent step at a time which is very important in network marketing.

Sponsoring just 3 people every month may not seem that great, but in the long-term it could get you an extra $70,000 a year after 4 years -- extra money to pay off your debts, accumulate more assets for retirement that could last 30 to 40 years, pay your children’s college tuition, travel and enjoy the things you deferred to care for family, support your church and charities that support your interests, etc.

To succeed, you have to make a choice right now to succeed. You have to decide right now what you will have to do to build your business. You have to decide right now what you will give up to achieve the success you want and deserve in life.

You will need a strong enough reason to build your business to beat the 1 in 50 success odds in the industry. The first thing you need to do is to figure out ‘your why’. “Your WHY” is that something you want…or something you want to get away from. You need a Big Real and Unwavering ‘WHY’ that will keep you going through rain, sleet, snow, flood, pestilence, criticism of friends, family members, or even a loved one with good intention.

“Your why” is the one big real reason that will keep you going and give you the staying power or internal sustainable motivation to overcome all obstacles and disappointments to achieve your desired goals.

Success Is A Commitment Not An Accident: A Real Expectation -- Part IV

What is it you are going to put into your business? You need to know ‘why’ you are doing the business, and you need to know how to do the business. When you know ‘why’ the ‘how’ can be learned. The ‘why’ has to come from deep inside. Nobody can give you a ‘why’ then give you a ‘how’ and encourage you. The ‘why’ has to come from within you.

You first need to know what you want before you can know what you are going to put into the business. Some people were sold the idea and false promise of making $30,000 per month in 12 months starting from ground zero without any knowledge, skills or know how to build the business. That is not a realistic expectation.

Most of the money made in network marketing is based on sales and recruiting. What is a realistic expectation for anyone entering this business? You want to think in terms of long term growth and stable growth. Studies show if you sponsor just 3 people every month, just average performance, it would get you an extra $70,000 a year after 4 years working 1 to 2 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week to prospect and follow-up with prospects.

Most people will quit the business after 4 months when they realize they will not achieve their financial dreams as quickly as it was presented to them. They are cheating themselves by trying to find a new and better opportunity. They don’t know what it takes to build a network marketing business, and they don’t understand the economic and tax benefits the business offers. That is why the right training is important for you to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, experience and expertise to build your business.

Your consistent effort over a long period of time will bring you success. Consistency is very important, because it shows who you are and what you are doing. If you consistently work toward your goal, you will move forward.

Studies show 50% of new marketers never heard from their upline and 75% are dissatisfied with their upline. Who is going to help you? Are you going to be there for your downline? You don’t need to be a superstar to be successful in this business and to earn a decent income. You only need to be consistent overtime.

At Successful Network Marketing, we can align you with the right resources. We can align you with people who are leaders, people who are becoming leaders, and people who want to become leaders. You will be among people who are motivated to build their businesses. You will be among the top 10% marketers. King Solomon said “He who walks with wise men will become wise, while the companions of fools will suffer harm.”

The attitude and beliefs of the people you hang out with will rub off to give you the ‘how to’, to encourage and to motivate you. You will need to become positively aligned with successful leaders who can energize you about your business. Believe it or not, there will be days when you and others will question your sanity as your business takes time to get off the ground.

There will be days when you will doubt if you have the stamina and skills to make your business a success. There will be days when you will doubt if you will ever figure out the secret of creating wealth. There will be days when fear will tempt you to avoid the pain of prospecting and building relationships with your business partners. There will be days when the ‘nay sayers’ will try to erode your confidence in your company, yourself, and network marketing. And, yes, there will be days when you will reconsider your confidence in your own dreams.

But you and every potential leader in your organization can plug into quality training which is critical for your success. You will need strong leadership and coaching to keep you accountable to someone who can help you stay on course with your task to turn your dreams into realities. “He who walks with wise men becomes wise.”

Success Is A Commitment Not An Accident: Focused Goals -- Part III

When you stop calling prospects, making follow-up of prospects, or studying to develop your knowledge and skills to build the business, you are engineering your own future demise by doing nothing. These are the battle that those who are successful win.

The next time you want to procrastinate about prospecting ask yourself this question, what if someone were to pay you $500 to make the calls to each prospect on your list right now? If you will be paid $500 to call every prospect on your list, would it change the way you feel and would you make those calls?

You need to ponder that thought, and just make the calls. Because that is what the long term potential in the network marketing business is all about in 2 to 4 years. Visualize this end result, and it will change the way you feel about your business. It will change your attitude about whether you procrastinate or devote the time to build your business. If you are not calling your prospects and doing the things you know you need to do, you need someone to keep you accountable – someone who will motivate you and push you that little extra step to achieve your goals.

What do you really want out of this business? You need to be absolutely clear about what you want out of this business before you can put anything into the business. You must be clear about what you want before you can decide the money, time and effort to put into the business. The clearer you can visualize your goals the more you will know what you really want from your business and life.

You must first decide what you want and then you must decide what it will take you to get there. Your goals are going to create your focus. You have to focus on the specific results you are working towards. You need to set specific deadlines for your goals. How many people do you want to sponsor every month? If you sponsor just 3 people every month, you will be on your way to turning your dream into reality.

You have to have the persistence to succeed in this business or in any field. Once our goals are focused in our mind, once we understand clearly what we want, our focus will create the energy for us to realize those goals. This new energy will make us excited and happy. Studies show happy and successful people are those who have clear goals and are constantly moving towards bigger goals.

Success Is A Commitment Not An Accident: The Three Steps -- Part II

There are several important steps that are required for anything we dream about doing in life. When it comes to success, here are Three Steps of Success:

1. Dream -- You need to think big, dream big, and want to achieve big things.

2. Commitment -- You have to demonstrate a willingness to do whatever it takes to turn your dreams into realities. Only a few people are willing to make that commitment.

3. Ability -- You must have the knowledge, skills, finance, personality and ability to turn your dreams into reality.

Dream, commitment and ability are the three things that will let you achieve your objectives. The dream is only the beginning. It is the foundation for you to build upon. You need to make a personal commitment. You need the ability to get the job done.

Those who persist in network marketing are the true entrepreneurs. You will succeed if you are putting the commitment required to get the job done. The people who get through these three steps: dreams, commitment and ability are a very small number of the vast sea of people with lots of dreams. So you will never have to worry about market saturation when it comes to success.

Every one has dreams, but only a few will ever make a commitment to achieve their dreams. Only a select few will demonstrate the desire and persistence to persevere and turn their dreams into realities.

Most people don’t have these qualities naturally to pursue those dreams, and they don’t know how to develop the ability. That is why there will never be an over-abundance of leaders. It is for this reason why you are the most important person in your business.

The critical step to success is commitment. Once you are committed to doing something everything else can be learned. The most important part is your willingness to do whatever it takes that is ethical to achieve your dreams. Once the commitment is there you can acquire the knowledge, skills and ability. You can learn how to budget and how to start small, and your commitment will motivate you to persevere against all odds to realize your dreams.

The few people who persist with their dreams are the ones who ultimately succeed. The top leaders in every field experience the same internal battles. We all face those same challenges in different ways. The people who are successful win more of those battles. What makes them different is that they don’t yield to those immediate feelings at the expense of their dreams and goals. They all wrestle with doubts, fears, fatigue, and misunderstanding by others.

The key to success is discipline and drive. You have to focus on your desire to succeed. You have to have a desire that comes from deep within you. You either have this internal desire or you don’t. You can strengthen that desire with exercise such as reading or listening to something uplifting for at least 30 minutes every day. It will help to build your sustainable motivation. As a human being, your sustainable motivation is going to run out at some point. So you will need to constantly recharge your mind, stay plugged in, and stay committed to your dreams.

Success Is A Commitment Not An Accident: The Four Ingredients -- Part I

Many people are expecting success with very little input. “Success is not an accident.” You will need to become aligned with a support group that offers the leading cutting edge tools to build your business. You will need access to proven strategies, techniques and resources to keep you up to date with things that work. You will need help to keep your enthusiasm high and to reinforce your convictions so you can build your business. You will need help to keep you focus on your business.

Successful people continually develop themselves and keep learning what it takes to succeed in their business. Most people want to start off earning a big income with little effort and energy. But building a business or achieving success in any field does not work that way. There are Four Basics Ingredients to success:-

1. Goals. It is what you want. Your goal is anchored in your ‘why factor.’ It is the power of our why and the desires that motivates our actions. ‘The power of why’ will help you understand yourself and your business. Why are you building the business? What motivates you to build this business? What motivates your prospects? It all starts with what do you want?

2. Priority. What are you willing to give up to get what you want in life?

3. Association. Who are hanging out with? Who will help you? Who will motivate, educate and empower you to do the things you need to do to become successful and get what you want?

4. Plan. Do you have a plan that works? You have to take action and work your plan.

Success starts with a dream, but your dream comes from these four basic ingredients. You have to dream in network marketing or in any area of life, but most people give up on their dreams when obstacles arise. Most people get little or no support from their peers and family members in regards to their dreams. In the process, life teaches us a lot of hard lessons, and we tend to give up on our childhood dreams so that we don’t have to face the pains and disappointments of life.

You must have realistic expectations. You have to know how to break down your goals in small steps. You can dream anything you want to dream to achieve your goals. In order to achieve success, we have to take one step at a time. When we first begin, it seems slow, uninterested and like you will never get to your goals. If you don’t believe in what you are doing, your dreams will die.

You need a good support environment where you can get the resources and motivation to keep you enthusiastic to reinforce your belief and convictions so you can beat the odds and build your business. Your belief will increase your hope. When you take action on that hope your belief is daily reinforced as you consistently see small incremental steps of success.
